Building Features

As a strategically important healthcare facility, it was essential for the client to ensure continuity of care and avoid any operational interruptions.

The hospital consists of two main units (A and C) with reinforced concrete frames and double-leaf perforated brick infill walls.

Unit A: 6 above-ground floors with 2 reinforced concrete stair cores located on the outer sides.

Unit C: 2 above-ground floors, connected to Unit A via 3 linking walkways.

Intervention with Resisto 5.9

The project involved the application of the Resisto 5.9 seismic coat system on the vertical surfaces of the complex, covering over 10,500 m².

The system, which integrates structural strengthening and thermal insulation in a single dry-applied intervention, proved to be the ideal solution for maintaining building operations, thanks to:

The system’s contribution will ensure a seismic risk index above 60%, as required by the Italian regulations.

Once the seismic frame was installed, a rock wool insulation layer was applied.

Thanks to the adoption of Resisto 5.9, it was possible to avoid the initially planned invasive interventions, which would have required scheduled closures of multiple hospital areas for years, significantly reducing the facility’s operational capacity.
